Chief Academic Officer & RDA Program Director

Judith has worked in the dental industry for over 20 years with education being her passion. She has been a RDA since 1987 and has worked in private practice as well as education. Judith was an educator at Reedley College for 11 years and Program Director for the Dental Assisting Department. Her focus as an instructor was radiology and infection control as well as teaching many other topics. Judith enjoys working closely with the dental community and providing dental assistants with outstanding skills to work with their team. She has been involved with the professional organization, and she is a Past-President of the California Dental Assistants Association.

Colleen Kirby-Banas, CDA, RDAEF, MS

Executive Director of Operations

Colleen graduated from an accredited Dental Assisting Program in 1994 earning her Associates in Science Degree. She became a RDA and a CDA shortly after graduation and worked clinically for three years before earning her RDAEF license after graduating from the University of California San Francisco RDAEF Program. Colleen completed her Bachelors Degree in Health and Human Services from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2004 and completed a Masters Degree in Health and Human Services with an emphasis on counseling from Capella University in 2009. Colleen was an educator and Program Director for 13 years before leaving instruction to focus on developing examination textbooks for dental assisting licensure and national certification. She has served as a volunteer leader in CADAT including Association President in 2012 and 2013, has contributed several years to working the CADAT Annual Conference, and is now the Executive Director of Operations for the FADE Institute.

Chief Operations Officer

LaDonna is recognized as a dedicated speaker focused on OSHA, Infection Control and California Dental Practice Act as well as regulatory and statutory issues affecting the profession in California. During her 18 years of clinical dentistry, she earned degrees in biological sciences, business management, and higher education before spending 20 years as a dental educator, speaker and trainer for all dental professionals.

Ms. Klein served as a two-time appointee to the Dental Board of California under Governor Gray Davis and is often called upon to assist in developing regulatory and statutory language for dental assisting-related oversight. In 2005, LaDonna became the first Executive Director of the California Association of Dental Assisting Teachers, where she served as a member and volunteer leader of the association for nearly 26 years.

In recent years, LaDonna has focused her attention toward authoring textbooks and preparation resources for state and national dental assisting examinations and in 2011 established the Foundation for Allied Dental Education as a non-profit, public benefit entity serving to support the educational and professional development needs of all allied dental healthcare personnel.

Originally from New York, Gerry has been a Northern California resident since 1986. During his first 10 years here, he worked for 2 software companies. Since leaving the software development industry over 20 years ago, his main employer has been a large Telecom company. Most of the work has been large complex network projects. Gerry earned a project management professional certificate in 2006.

Facilities Manager

Ms. Elizabeth Trenticosta is the newest member of our FADE family, serving as Facilities Manager and overseeing our special marketing projects. Elizabeth began her clinical chairside career three years ago in Pediatrics before enrolling/graduating from the first DA-to-Licensure cohort at The FADE Institute. Originally from New Orleans, she enjoys giving back to the community that adopted her after Hurricane Katrina. Amongst her many attributes, Elizabeth is dedicated to improving the overall welfare of her community through volunteer work and giving of herself at local community service events. Elizabeth is currently the Student Fellowship Chair for the Greater Sacramento Dental Assistants Society.
