This course is designed to provide Board-approved instruction and certification in the application of Pit & Fissure Sealants for those seeking licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant or to meet licensure renewal requirements for new RDA’s. Only a RDA can perform sealants, however, certification must be completed either prior to obtaining a licensure or within the first renewal period in which continuing education credit is required.
This two-day certification course provides all required didactic, lab, and clinical instruction required including oral anatomy review, instrumentation and oral hygiene instruction, identification of materials and proper placement techniques.
All participants must have completed an 8-hour Infection Control certification course, Dental Practice Act, Coronal Polishing certification and CPR* prior to enrollment in the sealant certification course.
*Current BLS Certification (Healthcare Provider course only) – Please bring a copy of your certification card with you on the day of the course. This copy is needed before a Certification of Completion can be issued.
Please bring copies of the following: 1. certificate of completion for the 8-hour infection control certification course 2. certificate of completion for the 2-hour Dental Practice Act 3. current CPR card (front and back, BLS, Healthcare Provider course only) and 4. certificate of completion for Coronal Polish certification.
Classes run 8:30am – 4:30pm.
